Just low back pain

The most common reason to see a Chiropractor is for relief of low back pain, actually low back pain may be the only thing you think Chiropractors deals with. Treatment for low back pain is one of the things Chiropractor’s are particularly good at but it isn’t the only thing.

Most people go to the Chiropractor when they are in pain, most commonly back pain or neck pain. Our priority at that point is to help you deal with that pain and to help get back to normal as fast as possible.

Many think that health is merely the absence of pain or symptoms. A wellness approach to health means adopting a variety of healthy habits for optimum function on all levels - physical, mental, social, and spiritual. Achieving whatever health goals you want vary from person to person. For some it may be to be able to play with their grandchild, other it may be to compete in international competition.

For a plant to thrive it needs light, soil and water. The human body is similar, it has certain requirements to thrive says Chiropractor Gavin Young.

Whilst coming to get chiropractic care is the key ingredient, wellness is also about understanding that you have to move well, eat well and think well to compliment chiropractic care and to live the life you’re capable of. 

Eat Right

Our diet has a huge influence on the state of our health. Supermarkets sell an enormous amount of ready-meals; fast food chains are on every corner, how is eating this kind of thing every day making you feel? It is so important to eat fruit and vegetables, raw where you can, and drink lots of water. The amount of chemicals that you consume in your diet may astound you, try making at least one small change to your weekly food shop and see what happens.

Think Well

The easiest one to overlook, our emotional state needs lots of care and attention. It is so important to stay positive and wake up each day ready to face the challenges life brings you, taking time out to make sure you feel happy with yourself so you can go on to help others. It sounds unconvincing but the truth is that it’s probably the hardest change you have to make – look after yourself!

Move More

Do you move every single joint in your body every single day? With all the modern transport systems around today and most jobs based behind desks, it is so easy to sit down all day without realising that this is stressful, our bodies need motion to function. Our muscles and joints are there so we can move around. Staying fit helps our whole system work the way it should and exercising really makes a difference, even just standing up after every 20 minutes of sitting will make a difference!
